G&P were contracted to overhaul a 5’ nominal bore axial-flow impounding pump for a client in London. The work scope included replacement of bearings, line bushes, and seals; one of the line bushes showed cracks in the flow vanes, which has to be replaced with a reverse-engineered design. Also in the scope was the overhaul of the gearbox and motor. Additionally, G&P were contracted to remove and reinstall the pump.
The works were completed on budget and the test run at installation proved a success.
G&P Engineering has evolved from a very modest beginning in 1980 operating from the proverbial “back of a van” to bespoke built workshops, catering for all types of fabrication, machining and engineering.
